The development of the Tirebird racing program is well documented based on the history written by Doug Innes, the crew chief for T/G Racing. Three race cars (#92 blue, #8 white, and another wrecked) and 6 promotional cars (all #92 blue) were produced.
The BFG Promo car used by BFG throughout southern California was sold to Popular Hot Rodding editor, Tom Senter. Tom fully documented the car including the installation of a LS6 454 motor bought from Berger Chevrolet in several magazine articles.
Jerry Titus was one of the greatest drivers of his time. Unfortunately, his life was cut shut due to an accident during a practice lap prior to an SCCA race at Road America. His successors were also excellent drivers, including David Hobbs, John Cordts, Larry Dent and Don Pike.
